1. Find someone through your network of "friendlies" that has an interesting job (preferably something you are actually curious about doing yourself)

2. Set up an "informational interview" in person, over the phone, or via email.

3. Record your Q & A Session and add it to your process journal (if you use your own writing, it must be easy for others to read!)

1. Ask a parent or any other adult you admire.

2. Write down their career & education timeline from graduating high school to the present day.

University Research Project

Your Assignment: 

1. In groups of 2 or 3...snoop through the Maclean's Website and select a Canadian University to research. 

Note: You may also choose to research a trade school or any other college that is not mentioned in this magazine article.

2. Tell Ms. Echols which school/training program you are going to research (and who you are working with) Note: If you have not picked a school to research by next class, Ms. Echols will assign you something!

3. Assignment Critera:

• You will be creating a 1-page handout/flyer about your chosen institution that can be photocopied and given to each person in the class (including Ms. Echols)
• You will also be doing a 5 minute presentation to the class about your chosen/given school....

a) Who are they? (name)

b) What is the atmosphere/culture like?

c) Where exactly is the school?

d) Why would someone want to go there? (What is the school best known for?

e) How would you get there? (Entrance requirements, Cost...etc)

f) Anything else you think would be relevant

4. You will be assessed by your peers. Mark is out of 20.

5. Due Date: Friday, June 10th (no lates, no exceptions).

Quality of Presentation	Needs help getting presentation started. No handout. Problems with technology.	Not a smooth start to the presentation. Handout is minimal. Class attention wanders. Waiting for links to load, buffering, etc. Speakers were hard to hear and/or read with their heads down.	Presentation is smooth. Handout is easy to read & has visuals. Speakers are clear and easy to understand.	Impeccable performance. Transitions are smooth. Handout is easy to  read & visually appealing. Speakers are entertaining and easy to follow.

At the end of the day...everyone will be expected to have a copy of each presentation (19 in total) added to their Planning 10 process journals.
